The Next Paradigm: Common Sense for This Generation
(Words & Music - A Book with a Companion Collection of Songs)

Authors: Thomas J. Cryan, Aldo F. Berti
Published by: University of San Marcos Press.

The Next Paradigm: Common Sense for This Generation (TNP) is a bilingual (English/ Spanish) book with a companion collection of songs recorded exclusively for the Project.

TNP is about real systemic change. This dynamic work of Words and Music represents a compelling discussion of the major issues facing our society today.

Written in the spirit of Thomas Paine's Common Sense, which developed ideas crucial to the formation of the United States and its institutions of government, TNP punctuates its focus on contemporary politics, society and culture with interrelated music from the 60's and 70's, newly recorded by contemporary artists.

The Next Paradigm encourages today's younger generation to tackle such contemporary and top-of-mind issues such as: exploring the alternatives to petroleum-based engines; advocating a transactional tax instead of the current tax code in the U.S.; reorganizing our current political practices of only two viable parties as well as the limitations of the electoral college; global leadership with a free worldwide market; cost-effective water desalination; prison reform; all-inclusive worldwide internet access; educational financing; and personal reflection.
